Each year HOPE is amazed by the support we receive during our End-of-Year Giving campaign. Community donors truly are champions for our cause. Funds donated during the holiday giving season are critical to our mission, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank you ahead of time for your generosity. In 2016, HOPE raised nearly $6,000 through end-of-year giving activities. Help us reach this year’s increased goal of $9,000!

Funds received at the end of 2016 were put to immediate work renovating our newest homes on Banner Avenue in Long Beach, Clark Avenue in Long Beach, and Rosecrans Avenue in Norwalk.

Our 2017 campaign will include several opportunities for you to contribute to our cause. Beginning in late September, a letter written by former HOPE resident and current Board Member Mead Duley will be mailed informing about the launch of the campaign and requesting an annual gift. This will be followed by an email request for support that will allow for easy online giving. Next, a series of social media posts centered around #GivingTuesday will offer ways for donors to contribute through Facebook. Lastly, a volunteer led phone bank will reach out to prospective donors with calls for support.

As mentioned, we will once again participate in #GivingTuesday, a day of philanthropic celebration taking place on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. The event kicks off the charitable season when many people focus on their holiday giving and are searching for different ways to be generous. Remember to consider HOPE!

During this year’s campaign, our HOPE Helps Gift Catalog will allow donors to choose a home gift item or renovation project to benefit our residents, while simultaneously honoring a loved one with a free personalized card. Items can be selected that improve mobility for our residents, such as ADA sinks, ramps, and widened doorways. Other options will go to support increased self-reliance, like washers & dryers, stoves, or dishware. Lastly, some gifts help with building a sense of community and assisting with socialization, like patio furniture, sofas, or dining room furniture. Consider this new way to support HOPE in place of traditional gifts to friends and family members for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.

Donate today and become a hero in the lives of our residents! Your contribution will directly empower HOPE to create more housing stability for those most vulnerable in our communities. This generosity truly makes dreams come true. HOPE looks forward to continuing our collective mission together in the coming year!

Donate through the HOPE Helps Gift Catalog in lieu of a traditional gift to a loved one this holiday season. Make your gift here today, and a personal card will be mailed to your honoree notifying them of the donation made in their name.
